“Werdo” is used kinda like the word “buzzard” in Harmonaire. It’s used to denote a few specific species of monsters (sort of like the Honey Buzzard in bird terms) but also refers to a group of similar monsters that are not Werdos (in bird terms, this would be turkey vultures and hawks).
Aside from this, Werdos can take a surprisingly wide variety of forms. Some are modified by a higher entity to be centaurs or invertebrate-resembling or something else. Since all Werdos are humans that the colossals liked so much that they kidnapped them to Harmonaire, or descended from such, they’re kinda favorited by the colossals. Many of them that are not translators or performers of some kind are actually shamans and interpreters of divine messages.
