Not me being soft picturing OB H feeding Missus after she gives birth to Teddy on the home birth concept while she breastfeeds 🥺 they have now switched to their room and maybe she’s feeding her some soup that one of the Midwives suggested he makes and maybe Anne is already there and she’s helping clean up what’s left and tumble drying some clothes for the Missus to wear when she’s ready to go take a shower and all 🤍
PLEASE. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. Something about that immediate postpartum time just warms my heart. Everything is so warm and soft and moving slowly. No one’s in any kind of rush. The missus and Teddy are snuggled up under a heavy blanket in her and Harry’s bed, skin to skin and even though he’s a tiny little thing, he is nursing so well. Making the soft little baby noises as he eats. His skin still a little pruned and damp, his tiny dusting of hair sticky, but he’s so alert. Blinking his fresh eyes up towards his momma as he eats.
Harry sat next to her on the bed, delicately feeding her some spoonfuls of soup. I love the thought that a week or two before she has Teddy, he makes this big batch of soup and freezes it, so it’s ready for whenever their bubbie is actually born. And it ends up being the thing she’s most hungry for after birth. So Harry heats her up a big bowl with some nice, crusty bakery bread and it’s the perfect, comforting thing. Harry feeding her helping her sip on some water or warm tea. Promising to run down their favorite cafe and get her a slice of her favorite cake once they open. Rubbing her legs, wiping down her face with a cool cloth to clear away the sweat and tears. Putting some fresh socks on her feet and fixing her hair for her.
I love the thought of Anne coming by a couple of hours later and helping the midwives clean up a few last minute things, tidying up the house, definitely getting the missus some cozy cloths for after Harry helps her to the shower.
