Dear person I’m jealous of,

hi. There’s a few things we need to talk about, first of all, you’re so cool. How do you even do that?? How can you be so casual and calm in the most amazing of situations? I really wish I was brave enough to go do stuff the way you go do stuff. I want your way of chasing dreams. I want your way of catching good people and holding on to them. I want your honesty and your openness.

I truly truly wish you all the best. My jealousy of what you have is something I’m working on changing into more of a role model kinda thing. You inspire me. You do. But I so badly want what you have that it’s hard to keep the jealousy away.

I guess Picture Me Gone by Meg Rosoff. Honestly I can not tell you why I love that woman’s writing so much – it’s a bit tricky and if you weren’t paying attention you’d miss some great stuff. But I love her and that story was a perfect journey.

How badly you wanna see the third Hobbit movie

Meh about as badly as I want it to be sunny on my last day of school. I’m looking forward to it, but I’m not desperate.

One with a room full of books and a computer with the perfect keyboard and the perfect swivley chair so I could just sit there all day and write comfortably. It needs to have space for my cat but that’s about all I’m asking for.

Favourite fantasy world, why

Narnia. I know it’s all allegory but somehow I find it easy to believe in. It’s a safe place, where squirrels talk to badgers and where miracles and magic happen. It’s like a daydream land and I always imagine the grass to be thick and lush between your toes.

Describe your country briefly (people, streets, culture anything you think is important)

We all hate everything – especially the weather – but we’re great at pretending. A nation of pretenders and check out girls. We’re tired, I think. Tired of the economic changes. Tired of feeling responsible and not feeling responsible for everything.

The people aren’t all that great, but we have wonderful countryside.

Someone said to me once that flying over England was like flying over a green sea. Despite the cities like London and Birmingham we’re an agricultural country, really. We all love a good picnic with strawberries and cream. Everyone’s picked fruit at some point in their life.

We’re a sad lot. But I love it here.

So, two of my friends asked me one of those question thingies. Here are my answers.

1) if you got to completely redo yourself - looks, personality, everything - what's at least one thing about yourself that you would keep?

Uhm. My story writing part of my brain. I like the little worlds I’ve made.  

2) what's pissing you off right now? just rant dude. just fucking rant, go for it.

Oh okay (unlike Jess I don’t give a darn who I upset) WHAT ISN’T?! I’m pissed about being SIX MARKS OFF AN A IN GEOGRAPHY and I’m stressed with the whole UCAS application thing and I’m angry at the world in general because everytime I go on my dash there’s some other social justice thing and it stresses me out how people can’t be happy and how everything needs a frigging text post about it. I get that all these bazillion topics are really important but really? Shouldn’t everyone just be protesting about people not being able to choose what they do with themselves?That’s what it all comes down to, but there always has to be another point and another reason why society is screwed. Oh, and the whole “virginity is a social context therefore don’t value it” thing. Goddamn I value it and sometimes I feel like tumblr wants me to NOT value it. Same with me preferring to see men in jeans than skirts. Or me preferring white men over black men.

I guess I just get annoyed at the world for trying to be too forceful in any way.

3) what's something you keep meaning to get around to watching/reading but you haven't yet? ELLIE. So I want to read The Kite Runner, Little Women, The Secret Garden, The rest of the Redwall series because eep, The Honourable Phryne Fisher books, Paper Towns, Alice Brown’s Lessons in the Curious Art of Dating, Sense and Sensibility, Ultraviolet, The Card Turner, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Velocity, Persuasion, Northanger Abbey, Emma, The Hobbit, The Picture of Dorian Gray…

And I dunno if there’s anything I want to watch. Oh, How I Live Now.

4) you have the oppertunity to teleport just twice in your life. where you  gonna be teleporting to? To my future me and family so I can tell myself well done on doing whatever I get done, and then I’ll teleport back so I can work towards that scene.

5) what kind of things make you smile in day to day life? Chloe. When D hugs me. When you have a good day. When Jess chats to me about something she really loves and she gets all animated and excited. When I give someone a sticker. When anyone on twitter says “good day”.

Heheh well I’d rather the second one but I think that would scare him a bit.

They were like 25p so I bought some chocolate too and it rocked.

Well, I have certificates saying I have a grade B GCSE in German and a Level 2 NVQ, but all I can remember is one of my speaking assessments, so I can’t really have a conversation.

By smell.

I have too many to organise properly. So the top shelf is series (HoN, Twilight, Ingo, Redwall, Horrible Histories, Torchwood, Doctor Who…)- the middle shelf is fiction in general: the back layer is read/embarrassed to admit to reading/read and loved but not going to read again/don’t have space for on the front/dictionaries and thesauruses; the front layer is Jane Austen, classics, what I think should be classics, mine!, bitty-books, books that are cool but non-fiction; the top layer is books I’ve read, reference to fictional books (eg Narnia stuff), need to read – bottom shelf is nonfiction: makey stuff, Ballet programmes, human body/geology, casual science stuff and encyclopaedias. Tadaa.
