Glamour Magazine just named Ms. Rachel one of its Women of the Year — honoring her for “speaking up for children everywhere.” Everywhere… except, apparently, Israel, in my opinion. While she’s posted countless times about Gaza, she’s said almost nothing about Israeli children — the ones murdered, orphaned, or still healing from Hamas’s October 7 terror. Once again, Jewish pain is erased. Just as global women’s movements went silent when Israeli women were raped and tortured, now Jewish children are left out of the “children of the world” narrative. It’s not about hate. It’s about the hypocrisy of selective compassion — where Jewish suffering never seems to fit the script. Even the red poppy she’s wearing — once a universal symbol of remembrance — carries new meaning this year. Lately, it’s also been used as a sign of solidarity with Gaza. Maybe it’s coincidence. Maybe it’s not. Either way, it feels like one more reminder of which children the world chooses to see… and which it doesn’t. 🕯️ We don’t need more awards. We need truth, empathy, and the courage to see all children.
