TiRon - For Your Smile

The first time I heard of TiRon came from listening to "All The King's Men" with Blu. It was an indirect introduction, as I didn't focused on his music until I heard this song. "For Your Smile", a highlight off of his stellar album MSTRD, opens with the laughter of children playing around before Ronnie raps on his childhood. The warping keys and strings of DJ Dahi's production wraps around the cheeky honesty in TiRon's rhymes. 'Back then I was rocking Payless, a size 6 cuz that's my mother got paid less' he professes, living the everyday brother life of wanting to wear the finest clothing, but only had enough money to stunt on a budget. It's fun in its approach, wanting to impress the girl of interest with all the material. It also gives a glimpse on who TiRon is as an artist: affectionate, lovesick, and deeply invested in his self-awareness to know that things are gonna work out in the end.
