Finally found the limits of my trike’s gearbox.
Mt Fyffe in Kaikoura, New Zealand with it’s unrelentingly steep climb was a worthy opponent. The ride down was fun, so not all bad, but I can’t help feeling disappointed we didn’t make the hut. There was a couple in their 70s who walked on by- something I had always imagined Kirstin and I would be able to do at that age.
Feeling somewhat dejected by the effort required, and equipment modifications needed to do what was previously a simply thing. Guess we just have to forge on. On the plus side I now know what the gearbox can do for the upcoming bike prototype. Stay tuned!
