I remembered my first time hiking at Mt. Pulag it’s the highest peak at Luzon here in the Philippines. It was hard to climb, but it’s really worth it once your on top of it. You can see the sea of clouds and feel the strong wind coming at you.

Mt. Pulag Dayhike

Luzon’s highest peak at 2,926 metres (9,600 ft) above sea level.

famous for its "sea of clouds" and the view of the Milky Way Galaxy at dawn, which has attracted many tourists who wish to see the "other-worldly" scenery. The entire mountain is believed to be the home to the tinmongao spirits and is the sacred resting ground of the souls of the Ibaloi people and other ethnic peoples in the area.

This was my first hiking experience and it was a MAJOR HIKE!! I joined a group of amateur mountaineers and met new friends.

We travelled from Manila to Benguet for 10 hours.

This is team that I joined. There is a 3 year old kid, so cute!!!

The hike is thru Ambangeg Trail, the easiest hike. We started hiking at 12pm noon to catch the Sunset and see the sea of clouds. But unfortunately it was raining so hard that time. We still continue to hike. Two groups hiked that time, one is our group that consist of 9 members and the guide and the other group which has 14 members.

The Summit

We reached the summit after 5 hours and it started raining so bad. After that we went down for 3 hours until we reach our lodge. It was a great experience, although I didn't see the sea of clouds I saw the true beauty of the nature. Something worth remembering and to be proud of that after 8 hours of enduring I finally made it to the top. Definitely will be back soon for my sweet revenge.

Mt. Pulag

I went up 2,922 MASL just to see the beauty beneath and above. I was with my friend, Kisha, that time. It was her birthday wish to see the sea of clouds. so I went with her and join a group of hikers. It was both our first time hiking, the beauty of mother earth eventually struck us in awe and the feeling of reaching the summit makes it even more awesome. 

They say in churches if you went in there for the first time you may make a wish and it’ll come true. For me the beauty of the surroundings made me feel closer to God, a beautiful scenery that you may only see and enjoy if you strive hard. Above all the problems I left in the city I wished for blessings in life. :)

I never did expect it would come soon enough. 

Ascent to the summit isn’t easy, you’ll feel hot even though it is cold, you’ll feel breathing pressures, the trail sometimes isn’t too good and is slippery, you’ll fall, your bag will weigh more every time you get tired and water is a necessity. 

The hardship I came I across during the climb is the same as love came to me.

It was not easy, a lot of things happened before we’ve sorted it out, but one thing for sure I know that I liked and love you for who you are. I’ve described how I met you again in my third (3rd) entry. :)

I have been used to the single life. I wasn’t looking for someone. I was just happy with my family and friends that time. meeting you again was like meeting my old friend whom I wasn’t that close but has enough foundation to build a better relationship.

God may give us a lot of challenges in our journey but I know his plan for us will always lead us in a better place.:
