February 4th, 1977, was a Friday. It was also a full moon. Maybe if it had been left like that, things would’ve been simple. As it came to be, it wasn’t just a full moon; not like the other ones usually were. It was one that Sirius Black would remember for the rest of his life. or: the prank happens, sirius gets dumped and the rest of the gryffindors sides with remus. enter barty and the slytherins stage left.

“Well, Remus, have you ever done this before?” Remus shook his head and lit up by a lone streetlight, Sirius noticed the way his cheeks and the tips of his ears seemed to darken slightly. “That’s what I thought.” Sirius crushed the cigarette under the heel of his boot. Then, he stepped up to hook his elbow with Remus’s and started walking them back towards the hotel. “Besides,” he added, meeting Remus’s gaze with a twinkle in his eyes. “With a smile like that, how could I ever say no?” or the pretty woman au nobody asked for. sirius is out of options to pay rent, and remus is lonely and rich.

In 2018, Remus Lupin walked out of Sirius’s life with no warning, no apologies, and no explanation. Sirius learns to be fine with it, he grows his life and his success into something most people would only dream of. He travels, he works, he’s on billboards, he’s got a nephew on the way. He’s doing more than fine. Until Remus comes back after eight years of nothing, looking gloriously sun kissed and freckled from two years in the Mediterranean. Suddenly Sirius is not fine anymore.

There was a tight grip in his hair and when his head was tilted to the side, stretching his skin out on full display, Sirius let it happen. He let out a sharp gasp when Barty’s teeth sunk into his neck, his fingers twisting into the taller male’s shirt while he worked the skin into a bruise. When he pulled back, he licked over the indent of his teeth before speaking again, and Sirius already knew that he had lost.

“I don’t want you to be some bullshit scaled down version of yourself. You’re a fucking wreck, Sirius Black, and that’s the most interesting thing about you.“

sometimes i remember that sirius was originally gonna get barty’s name tattooed on his ass and not realise until remus was on his knees behind him asking about it

but i couldn’t figure out how to fit it in the storyline
