I adore Sander's & Jock's designs, it's so good. The colours showcase their personalities perfectly and wanted to further that by breaking down the shape language. :D

Anyway, MTCPT art dump!!! :D

I was thinking back to the first chapter in Sanders apartment when despite already eating, chooses to go out with Jock. So, it got me thinking: Sanders enjoys Jock's company a lot (I mean I'd hope so considering he loves the guy) and when he's home alone he'd feel, lonely? like he'd just kinda feel isolated in a way, if you get what I mean? So, I imagine a bit later after they started dating Jock would come around or sleep at his every now and again so, in the mornings when they're sitting at the counter Sanders would just,,, stare. He'd just feel really nice and enjoy his company. Idk I just like thinking about sappy scenarios between characters. I probably didn't need to ramble this much but yk how I am. I love over-explaining my art.

The 9 or so years gap between the original comic and the current version Jock learned to do his tie at some point right? So, I thought Sanders would just get sick of Jock struggling all the time so he just eventually taught him how.

WHICH LOSER DESPERATELY NEEDS A HUG DUE TO DEEP-SEATED TRUST ISSUES? THE MIDDLE-AGED QUEER MAN, THAT'S RIGHT!

Sanders? you alright?

Getting into your own head aren't ya buddy?

Something I've noticed in the past couple of pages in chapter 4, Sanders has been tapped out, like he's on auto pilot and not really speaking all that much.

He's gotten caught up in doubts and what those pair of old folks said to them. While it doesn't really get to Jock (due to growing tough skin from dealing with shitty people a lot of his life, discussion for another time though) It really gets to Sanders, he's started going non-verbal and shutting down, maybe even dissociating. This isn't much of a surprise considering how we've seen him deal with situations and emotions like this, when he starts losing a sense of control over himself and his situation he'll start distracting himself. The entirety of chapter 3 we see him do this, focusing on some random wedding to distract himself and attempt to gain some sort of control to avoid dealing with a scary situation.

So, we've seen his struggle with confronting difficult feelings or practically any negative emotion. But thanks to that thing called character development he's getting better! but, not quiet there yet. While he's no longer attempting to avoid the situation all-together he's still struggling to deal with and talk about these negative feelings. He's swayed by his emotions, leads with his heart and such. So, he doesn't think things through on a logical ground as Jock would. I've said it before: they bring out the best of each other.

But when being an emotional person he feels everything very strongly, so, when it comes to any form of negative emotion he really feels it. He's started spiraling and as a way of coping his brain has shut down and gone on auto pilot mode.

It sort of reminded me something I do, I'll be staring at nothing and letting my mind just wonder. Of course, when I'm feeling/or something makes me upset it's amplified and becomes less-so relaxing and more-so spiraling as my mind wonders to bad places. I think that's what's happening with Sanders here, to put it simply: he's freaking the fuck out. And he doesn't know how to deal with it, his brain shuts down, most likely as a defense mechanism.

Eventually, he'll get there. Both Jock and Sanders are learning from one another and constantly improving, growing and changing. I'm just interested to see how it'll play out.

I'M BACK WITH MORE MTCPT!!!

I've lost track of time and can't remember the last time I posted mtcpt stuff, it's been nearly two weeks, maybe??

Anyway, I've seen a lot of people discovering the original version of My Two Cents Plus Tax so I wanted to draw their old designs again :D

Sanders, buddy, you're fantastic man but that old haircut....

Anyway, I've had this silly little head cannon that Jock & Sanders have this thing together of sharing and listening to music with each other. So, it was fun to think they've been doing that since the early days of working with each other.

I can't stop putting characters in sweet, nice and relaxed scenarios. I'm a sucker for feel-good stuff, so naturally, I keep putting my favourite characters in these blissful, quiet moments

There's no particular idea I had when drawing this, I kinda realised I've never drawn or at least not for a while, drawn someone holding a cat. It was fun thinking about how each of them would interact with a cat, I think Jock would be a big fan of cats: I think Jock wasn't close with a lot of people growing up so he'd probably befriend the local street cats.

I NEED YOU ALL TO HEAR ME OUT!! This was a very rushed sketch of an idea I had. Okay okay so the three-legged race chapter is the last chapter of the comic for those of you who don't know, and I was thinking about how it'd end.

To be honest I've got no clue how it'd end, HOWEVER! I'm betting near the end: we'll see Sanders smile. NOW it's VERY unlikely this could happen and this is just me making predictions for the hell of it, but it's just a fun idea I wanted to explore a little. Whether he smiles or it's a different expression, I just think it'd be super hype. AGAIN this is just for fun, I don't know if or entirely think it will befit the story. If it does then great! but this is me messing around for enjoyment :]

I'm still working on my mini mtcpt project, I've been putting it off for a while (procrastination strikes again!) and my first semester just finished so I've yet to get around to finishing it.

As always I appreciate the support shown to my art, it genuinely means the world to me as a silly teen artist drawing these silly little characters <3

Quick MTCPT animation

Had my last workshop of 2d animation today in my art course so I thought what better to do than a little animation of Jock? >:D

Animation is genuinely so fun, if I had the resources on hand all the time I'd love to do it more often. Unfortunately, laptops and drawing tablets cost an insane amount of money I do not have </3

I had a lot of fun animating Jock, it's awesome to see him in motion, I mean I was the last person I would've thought to do it, but I enjoyed it nonetheless!

Buckle up guys we're in for a world of angst, I had a feeling this race would be some sort of test of their relationship

Alright, it's analysis time:

I think Sanders is terrified of losing Jock, now there's something on the line, there's someone he could lose. I mean his worldview was kinda shattered, he thought everything would be smooth sailing once they started dating but now is being shown otherwise. Ironically enough Jock seems to be the one least worried about it, considering the guys got some major trust issues. Jock already knows that relationships aren't easy, he'd be more prepared for the rockiness that comes with things like this. Sanders on the other hand is STRESSING. (obviously, Jock has his own worries but focusing on Sanders for now)

I believe this race is gonna test their relationship. They've been going on about how they're "out of sync", I think it'll teach them to work on their communication with one another. Which they've already gotten better at, just a few pages before Sanders opened up about not understanding and being a little disappointed that when they started dating they didn't become some invincible force or things would magically change. Although this is an improvement, you can see he's still repressing his feelings, he's keeping quiet. For what reason? I'm not sure, maybe he doesn't want to burden Jock or something?

Something as simple as "Try not to break up before you get there" is enough to send Sanders spiralling, and I don't think he's gonna tell Jock this, at least for a while. Sanders has an issue with putting his feelings into words and even when he can, he represses them. He keeps bottling them up. I think during this race all that emotion will build up and eventually explode.

Personally, I can't wait! I love some well-written angst :D
