You know, I think with this B&R announcement, I just can’t bring myself to care about Modern anymore. It’s a fun, diverse, strategically deep format, but honestly, I feel like I just can’t play it anymore. Both Mono-Blue Tron and Thopter Gifts were kinda fringe strategies before, and both of them are likely to be super soft to Bloodbraid Elf and also JTMS. I can’t afford to buy a bunch of Jaces for Modern either, so at this point, I just... can’t compete. I can’t afford to build another deck. Even when I want to play Modern, the decks I spent a lot of time and effort building just don’t feel valid anymore. Maybe it’s because my lists are bad or I’m playing them wrong, but... *sighs* I just feel like playing Modern is moving further and further out of my reach, and that really bums me out.
