It’s FINALLY happening!!

IT’S FINALLY ACTUALLY HAPPENING!!!

Magic: the Gathering is FINALLY going back to Lorwyn!! 🤯🤩🫠

I have been waiting so long for my favorite game to finally return to my favorite plane, and in January next year it’s actually happening! I’m seriously on the verge of happy tears. 🥹

For anyone who has been following my blog since before my divorce when I was still posting regularly, you might already understand what a huge deal this is for me. So please celebrate with me in the reblogs and/or comments!

For anyone newer to my blog, there really is no way for me to easily sum up how exciting this is for me. But please feel free to celebrate with me anyway!

Commander Pre-Con Recommendations

My 13-year-old really wants to teach one of their stepbrothers how to play Magic: the Gathering for Christmas, specifically playing Commander.

Their mom asked me if I had any suggestions of two pre-constructed Commander decks that play well against each other, but honestly it’s been a while since I kept up with new Magic sets and decks.

Do any of you awesome nerds in the MTG community have any recommendations I could pass along?

I have recently come into possession of some curious art that a fellow planeswalker acquired on Ixalan

It was found locked in a treasure chest in the cabin of a former pirate captain by the name of Angrath. A note on the back of the picture says it was drawn “from memory.”

Strangely, it seems to be the only item belonging to Captain Angrath that was kept under lock and key during his time aboard the ship.

Simply put, I agree 1000% with all the points this video makes. 

Both as a Magic player and as a dad (who plays Magic with my kids and tries to keep them engaged) I think that both Wizards of the Coast AND Hasbro would see enormous benefits from creating a Magic: the Gathering cartoon. 

Anybody else agree? Disagree? On the fence? I’d be curious to know what your take is and why. (And I’m sure @wizardsmagic and @markrosewater would be really interested to know too.)

My daughter and I were just in the car listening to The Magic: The Gathering Story Podcast

It's the episode that came out today where Blake is interviewing Mel Li. About 15 minutes in my daughter says, "Wow, Dad. These two are even bigger Magic nerds than you. That's impressive." And I'm like, "Yeah Sweetie, they work for @wizardsmagic." "Oh, that explains it."

I just remembered that a bunch of people tagged me in posts with Commander Selfies. Here's me and my two oldest kids with my three favorite commanders. (Rafiq of the Many, Kaalia of the Vast, and Doran the Siege Tower)

One of the benefits of playing Magic: the Gathering with your kids is that it can increase your credibility when dealing with nightmares. 

“Dad, I’m scared. What if there’s an abominable snowman outside?” 

“Buddy, you cast an Outland Colossus earlier today. You think an abominable snowman could stand a chance against something like that?” 

“Huh. I guess not. Thanks, Dad.”
