This time, all of Twilight's friends are dead! Oh no! Luckily, there's black magic to let them rise from the grave. And what card would be more fitting than Twilight's Call?

I am The Magical Gatherer

I use it/its/itself pronouns and am 21+ years old

This is my blog centered around Magic the Gathering (a trading card game)

I got into MTG in December 2025

I've played a couple drafts and several sealed/pre-release events, but I usually play Commander

I have two finished decks (a bracket 2/3 mono-white token/Hare Apparent deck & a bracket 2/3 red-black Demons/Devils/Imps deck), but am working on more!

Things you need for Magic the Gathering

1st thing you need is cards. When I went into my local card store I said I was brand new to everything so they set me up with an easy deck (Wildes of Eldraine- Fae Domination).

Then I got card sleeves to keep those expensive cards safe. I got the Dragon shield in Eucalyptus. People seem to really like dragon shield. I find them super dupper slippery so it is easy to shuffle which is nice but since I have small hands and there are 100 cards in a deck I struggle to hold it (Personal problem though)

You need a play mat. I graciously got gifted mine but literally any play mat will do a buddy of mine even plays on a pokemon mat.

You need a card case. There are a lot of options most gaming stores have them. Again super up to you there are some really cool ones online. This is again to protect the card when you are traveling and to make sure you don't end up losing any.

The next thing that is important is dice d6 and 620 are the most important ones. You can use them for a bunch of things. if you don't want to buy dice off the bat you can download apps such as lifetap and companion and they have built in life counters and dice features which is nice.

Apps I use so far:

lifetap- life counters

Companion- see local events and life counters

Manabox- keeps track of my cards
