"Sarkhan? Uhm, Sarkhan?"
Ann gathered up her skirts, padding as quickly as she could around the gardens. The dress wasn't the easiest thing to move around in, especially not outside. She called out, not too loud, of course- she didn't want to encourage the rumor-mongering that already seemed to have taken hold over the course of the event.
"Sarkhan, please... where are you?" She whispered with a pout, unhappy with her lack of success insofar in finding her friend.
It had been several nightsat the ball, but Shuichi had not seen Jace before now. He had only spoken with the mind mage once on Ravnica, but it was one of the most important and terrifying conversations of his life.
The elder excused himself from Sai, dismissing him to socialize on his own. Perhaps not the best idea, but he needed space for the moment.
Working up courage, the old shaman walked up to Jace, and tapped his shoulder.
"Jace-san? It has...been a long time."
All sound ceased, just in time for a sudden bass drop echo throughout the ballroom.
A crash, and through the front doors, stood the one and only Swagtusk, heralded by a chorus of booty-shakin' angelic bitches. His chains rattled, heavy with the swag that swayed as he swiveled to the swooning angels.
"BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, DAWG. WHERE MY HOS AT?"
"Are you sure, Shuichi-san?" "Yes, hatchling, I am sure." The younger orochi shook his head. "The man from last night? He had wings! Wings that dissolved into fire!" "Yes, but that doesn't mean-" Sai indicated a pair of women talking across the room. "And them? One has no torso, just suspended metal! And the other has hair like snakes!" Shuichi rapped Sai's forehead with his staff. "It is rude to point." "I just find it hard to believe, Shuichi-san." "Hatchling, not every unusual being that you see is some sort of spirit..."
