It Makes Sense; I Want You To Be Mine | Amos & Isa
Amos was drunk. He wasn’t the outgoing type who got drunk on a regular basis, like his fellow classmates. He was more of an introvert that preferred staying in and studying his magical creatures in preparation for his job at the Ministry, which he was determined to get during the summer. He only got drunk on occasions, and tonight was a particularly special one. It was their send off party, which was being hosted by the infamous four boys from Gryffindor.
The alcohol in his system was telling him that he needed to find Isa tonight and finally admit to her that he liked her and perhaps want to start something with her - something which could go incredibly well for him, or horrifyingly wrong and end in utter humiliation.
As a drunk Amos padded through the room of requirement, where the party was being held, he spotted Isa on the far table, sat next to who could only be Sirius Black. At least try to be sober, Amos, a voice in his mind was telling him. Don’t act like a fool in front of her. He straightened himself up as he made his way over, and as he got closer, he heard his name get thrown around a few times. Instead of greeting the two of them in perhaps his most drunken manner yet, he slipped onto one of the chairs at an empty table nearby. Close enough to still listen in and far enough away for them to hopefully not recognise him sat near them.
Whilst he was sat there, he overheard Isa announcing to Sirius that she liked Amos. This sent his smile growing from ear to ear, and he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. Not anytime soon. It relieved him to hear that she felt the same as he did. He didn’t know whether to go over and say something, or let her carry on and say more.
After a few minutes of having a debate with himself on what he should do, he downed the rest of his firewhiskey and straightened his glasses, pushing them back up onto his nose. He ran a hand through his hair and brushed himself down as he stood up. He didn’t particularly have the confidence to do this, but it had to be done. Right here, right now in this moment. There was no other chance that he would have to tell her how she felt before he left Hogwarts for good.
Sliding his chair back under the table, he inhaled a deep breath before making his way towards the table that Isa and Sirius were sat at. “Ah, look who it is!” he exclaimed as he approached their table. “I am terribly sorry to interrupt your conversation, but Isa, may I borrow you for a moment, if you don’t mind? I need to ask you something quite important.” he said, smiling sweetly in her direction.
