Mount Pedernal is just outside Ghost Ranch, Georgia O’keefe's home in New Mexico. This is a good example of artistic license when doing a commission. I always do two paintings so the customer can choose which one they like better. Then I’ll sell the other. But if you look at the third photograph which is what I was given to work from you can see there’s not a lot there. I searched for other images wanting to get the color of the rock in the landscape right. And then intensified it. What do you think?
