The prairie may be flat but our sky is not. A dormant ground, the sky full of color with water catching the light. In some ways I think winter is the best season here in Kansas. Rarely is it too cold and it’s certainly not too hot and the sky comes alive twice a day. This painting is 2 feet high 3 feet wide 2 inches deep.

Naked sitter, Peter Petyaev

Here is my friend Alexey as a model. In this work I wanted to show the stability of human personality using this pose with hands rested on his hips. And the beauty of the human body, because this light comes from the floor to the face of a model.
