I LOVE YOU @ardawigs!! (& you have the fastest owls!) I ordered my wig for #ArtNouveauFluttershy later than I ought to have done (especially since I ordered colour swatches back in the spring) so of course my wig was one of the styles in the Late May/Early June restock that just came in last week. I'd been checking my USPS tracking number near-constantly (when I wasn't at work) since Monday when I got the shipping confirmation & my wig arrived yesterday! * * I feared it wouldn't arrive until today (the original arrival date on the email), what with the holiday (so it would have arrived after I already left for @syracusecomiccon), but it was waiting for me when I came home from work yesterday. Thank you so much, it's perfect!! Circle skirt for #ArtNouveauFluttershy! (Yes, this begins a bit of a photospam of WIP snaps I've not posted yet.) I used @mccallpatterncompany M5681 (poodle skirt pattern) & a lining fabric from @joann_stores (polyester, but it has lovely drake) & then added about 6" to the length. It's so very twirly! I'm definitely going to have to use circle skirts more often! Today after work I need to finish my #corset for #ArtNouveauFluttershy & maybe start on the flower crown? Have a #cosplayWIP snap of several things in progress. I don't have a dedicated space to work on my crafting/cosplay so everything is done here or on the sewing machine that we moved to my brother's old room (which is sort of the guest room). * * (In other news, I'm hoping the wig I backordered from @ardawigs will be arriving by Thursday. Today's #cosplay progress: #circleskirt time! Yes, I'm still working on #ArtNouveauFluttershy, but I decided not to use the skirt from @simplicity_creative_group 1550 (which I am using for the top & corset--I really must do a post of all the patterns & alterations I'm using for this cosplay). * * I didn't quite know how to get the super-flowy silhouette at first, but looking at other #ArtNouveaucosplay designs (including @hannah_alexander_artwork cosplayers), I found lots of circle skirts! Happily, I already had @mccallpatterncompany M5681 from my #SophieHattercosplay! (I'm lengthening the skirt a bit.) {Another "I took this snap nearly a month ago & am just now getting around to posting it."} * * Following @alyssarking's advice from her panel at last year's @syracusecomiccon, I attempted to draw some concept art for my #GrandGallopingGala #Fluttershycosplay. * * Since I did not inherit my mum's art skills, swipe (on Insta) to see the pattern for the proper shapes (I'm still undecided on whether I'll be including the peplums--perhaps making them more flower-shaped?) & Fluttershy's dress from the episode. It doesn't show up very well in my drawing, but the corset will have a butterfly print--I'll be using @yayahan/@cosplayfabrics blue butterfly brocade (my first time using this type of fabric, meep). I'll also be making a flower crown out of a flower garland & sort of ribbon/trim material. 💖🦋🐰🌸🌿 * * My question is this: does this costume design look Art Nouveau enough to keep calling it #ArtNouveauFluttershy?
