Welcome to Torchwood
"Rose, I am only saying this once, and once only, you have to leave, right now!"
"No, Dad! I can't leave you! I can't do it! I won't do it!"
Their world was in chaos. For some unknown reason, the Dalek's were back, and were currently reigning terror across the London boarder, in particular, Torchwood tower. They had barricaded themselves in, the first army waiting for the onslaught downstairs, as well as one on the top floor.
Rose was dressed in her gear for the fight, but just as she reached for her weapons, her father (Pete), had dragged her to the White room, where the Dimension Cannon stood on the podium. Jackie and little Tony were already in the other universe, as they had gone previously. Pete refused to leave his men behind, and now, he couldn't deal with his daughter being stubborn.
"Rose Tyler, this is your commander speaking!" He suddenly shouted in his boss like voice which had new employees shaking at the knees. Rose also found herself rooted to the spot, mesmerized. "You will use this Dimension Cannon and go to the other universe, and find your mother and brother. Please," he stepped closer, placing his hands on her shoulders, after placing the Cannon around her neck. "I am also asking you as your father. Remember that friend of yours - Jack - I think you said, he's based in Cardiff, isn't he? Go and find him. He can help you all." He slipped an envelope into her jacket pocket. "Tell him to read the letter, it'll explain everything. If I make it out of this then I'll come and find you, I promise. Please, go now."
After hearing an almighty explosion from the ground below, causing the building to sway, Rose threw her arms around Pete, whispering 'I love you', before pressing the button. A bright white light enveloped her, and before Rose knew it, she was falling, falling until she crashed, right into the icy depths of Cardiff Bay.
She pushed her way up to the surface, already exhausted by the time she reached the steps onto dry land. She was soaked to the bone, her wet clothes clinging to her, water droplets falling from her drenched hair. By the time she reached the bay, she collapsed to her knees, hearing a pair of footsteps approaching.
