Nightmares, Promise, Love, Monster, Revenge, Pawns
Nightmares;
--A nightmare is an unpleasant dream that can cause a strong emotional response from the mind, typically fear or horror, but also despair, anxiety and great sadness.
£—Jem is use to nightmares since they come to him almost every night. Sleeping is the time the silver haired shadowhunter dislikes the most because just before he goes to sleep he takes a dose of demon blood and because he takes it, it gets into his blood stream and causes him to dream of horrid scenes. He has a reoccurring nightmare where he becomes nothing but skin and bones and can no longer play his violin, people in the institute no longer love him because he looks disgusting and leave him there to die. The most painful part of it is Will leaves him as well.
Promise;
--A promise is a commitment by someone to do or not do something.
£—When Jem makes a promise he tries as hard as he can to keep the promise and not break anyones trust. He is a very loyal person and when he commits himself to something or someone he will do anything that is humanly possible to keep his promise.
Love;
--The English word "love" can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection ("I love my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal").
£—Love is very special to Jem and he does not give it around willy-nilly, those who inspire him, who make him happy, who make him feel more alive are the people who truly are rewarded with his love. Gender is not particularly focused on when it comes to who he loves. It is really whoever gives him a reason to continue on with his miserable life. Of course until it’s over.
Monster;
--A monster is any creature, usually found in legends or horror fiction, that is often hideous and may produce fear or physical harm by its appearance and/or its actions.
£—Monster. Jem would consider himself a monster because of what he consumes. Demon blood, he feels as if he is in some way a demon. Relating back to nightmares he has had reoccurring nightmares that he becomes a monster, a demon, and kills everyone in the institute. However, Will, he would not consider a monster, simply a man. Imperfect, has secrets however still can feel guilt. He is normal unlike Jem.
Revenge;
--Revenge is a harmful action against a person or group in response to a grievance, be it real or perceived.
£—As a kind, thoughtful and genuine a person Jem is, he does not exactly think about revenge much however if someone where to hurt the people he cares about most he will not hesitate to do what he can to make sure they suffer just as equally as them. It is the harsher side of him however it would not happen unless death was introduced to one of his loved ones.
Pawns;
--A pawn is to give or deposit (personal property) as security for the payment of money borrowed.
£—Jem is willing to pawn his own life if things came down to either him or his parabatai. Knowing he cannot live very long he would certainly put his life on the line to protect people he loved.
