I'm glad you enjoyed It Chapter 2!! Not gonna lie, I cried too (especially at THAT scene) - was there anything in particular you enjoyed seeing?
Yes!! It was a great experience, no doubt about it. I haven’t read the book so I didn’t know what to expect, and some things really surprised me.
I don’t know exactly what scene you are thinking about, but I didn’t start the waterworks until Richie did at the lake - and then I couldn’t stop. That was too emotional for me. Holy shit.
One thing I enjoyed seeing was all the canon gay representation! Too bad it’s another case of “bury your gays“ which is a trope I’m really tired of seeing. We’re only allowed to exist when our loved ones are dead so you don’t have to see it explicitly. So yes, Richie deserved better.
I greatly enjoyed James McAvoy’s performance (as well as everyone else’s tbh), he was an awesome Bill Denbrough! I’m always blown away by how good he is at what he does. What I most enjoyed had to be the fact that all the Losers where individual persons with their own fears and character traits. We have two movies with the same characters so we get attached to them, we know them really well - or we think we do! For me, I did not see the R + E thing coming because I’m used to thinking that we don’t get represented so I don’t expect it to happen, at least in big movies like this. And then it does and it’s too late and I’m an emotional mess...
I enjoyed all the creepy stuff too!! I love when my first thought is “what the fuck is that“ followed by “that is so cool“. All the jump scares tho? They get boring. I know that they’re coming, they don’t work for me. Please stop.
