And then it was the last day in the remote mountains! A last lunch with 2 cans of beans, onions and cookies. A last small river crossing with a following steep climb. A last view on the green jungle. And finally a last pedal stroke on the dirtroad for now! In the next village we then met two other cyclists: @cyclingabout and @eesh____ !!! We were in contact for quite some time to arrange this meeting and we are so happy that it finally worked out! We had some good food + beers together and shared our stories. These guys are now going the same way we came. We are quite sure - We will never learn, that shortcuts are not really shorter! 😂 So a couple of days ago, we were on our way to the Terracotta Warriors near Xi'an in central China. We looked on the Map and found some nice looking roads which were maybe 5km shorter than the mainroad. It was raining like hell, so we absolutely went for it, to arrive sooner and get out of the rain! A couple of kilometers before we arrived, there was suddenly a gate on the road and a security man told us we can't go there. He pointed to the right, on a small road which will lead us to the Terracotta warriors. We had no choice, so we went for it. It was good in the beginning, but soon it turned into a muddy, wet and slippery path. We had to push our bikes through this paths until we found Tarmak again. The last kilometer where paved again and luckily we found a water hose to clean our bikes and ourselves!
