I’ve been wanting to go here for a couple years now. These are the #mudpots/#mudvolcanoes! There are these spots where gases & water are seeping up from underground making these little bubbling pools of hot mud. They’ve made these big hills of built up mud too. It’s fascinating! We arrived in Azerbaijan at 2 am from Kazakhstan by cargo boat along with many other travelers. There was a great crowd and after not finding anywhere to camp together an English family with a lovely mobile home said we should all pile in and head up to the mud volcanoes just a short drive away from the port. The road was incredibly bumpy and we were all shaken and thrown around the inside of the mobile home, it was quite a ride!
