April 20, 2014 - Santa Rosa de Cabal, Manizales and Medellin, Colombia

Santa Rosa de Cabal is one of the largest hot springs in South America. It is a nice place to relax after a long hike! After my adventure here, I visited Manizales for a few days and enjoyed more rolling hills and beautiful sunsets. I ended my trip and my birthday with my Medellin family! The weather alone made me a happy happy person, but being able to see these places along the way was the icing on the cake. I kept saying, "This can't get any better" sure enough, it got better and better along each stop.

They had three large pools raning from luke warm to hot. The stone in the middle supplied extremely hot spring water to the pool. Think hot tub the size of a pool, but without the chlorine overload and you are there! 

Oooosh! This water was freezing! It didn't stop me from this awesome photo opp! 

Rose, Eula and myself were treated to a mud bath of sorts. We were wiped down with volcano mud, wrapped up and then massaged. What a relaxing birthday treat after hiking so much!

Manizales had amazing sculptures throughout barrio Chipre. The views were heavenly.

Even with the clouds, it was a sunset worth seeing. Each night hundreds of people gather to watch the sun set and experience more of God's beauty.

This big man was showing off his feathers like a bride on her wedding day. While hiking through the coffee farm, we spotted him and immediately started snapping photos, he obviously like the attention. What an incredible animal!

Medellin - I spent my birthday in church! My birthday on April 18, fell on Good Friday. It is extremely important for Colombians to show their gratitude to God everyday, but this was an overwhelming sense of gratitude. All of the churches were filled with people flowing outside. They walked the streets with Jesus on the cross to remember everything he did for us, It was beautiful.
