Mugshot Monday - “Little Rhodes mug v2” with Morning Glory by Peace Coffee
I made this mug in the ceramics class I’m taking at Northern Clay Center called “Can you handle it?”. It’s all about learning how to make handles.
I’m a mug collector learning to be a mug maker and handles have always been my nemesis. My only goal for this class was to make one mug with a handle that *feels* good.
Not just a functional handle. Not just serviceable. It had to be a handle that you subconsciously find yourself holding for an extended period of time because it just feels *right*.
This mug right here is my first one! That makes me happy. 😀
I did make a “Little Rhodes mug v1“ about a year ago. It’s a chunky little beast, but that ceramic mug represented good progress at the time.
It’s easy for me to not see the small improvements I’m making as I slowly figure things out with great instruction and lots of practice.
I am so STOKED to drink coffee out of this mug I made! Cheers!
