People who buy high energy working breeds then treat them like lawn ornaments, people who breed their dogs who barely have any business owning a dog (literally had a client allow their 10yr old maiden bitch to get knocked up then refused to take to vet or abort), people who don’t want to spend money on grooming their doodle so they just let them get matted to the core.. I could go on and on. I don’t think I could ever go back to doing it again 😕
I 100% feel ya. I’m lucky I’ve been able to stick to only agility/sports because I definitely would have burned out much earlier doing general pet training. I absolutely refused and even if one of my clients had a non-agility problem I could probably solve, I almost always referred them elsewhere for it unless it was something minor. Unfortunately a lot of agility training is still dealing with general problems like lack of focus/engagement, sit-stays, etc especially for beginners. Major kudos to the general pet trainers and behaviorists who can do it. It’s rough.
