ft. @fulldal setting: mr. oh’s record store
it had been one of those days that were filled with heavy sighs and thoughtless mistakes; it seemed like everywhere he went, haeseung was knocking market displays over or accidentally bumping people. his head was in a fog, and he had no business being out in public while also trying to formulate thoughts, to be fair. he’d been in a funk as of late, thinking a lot about his parents and just how cruel it was to have been given so little time with them. they’d never see one of his paintings, never see him marry, never see how his life would turn out.
he’d been lingering outside dallia’s workplace, her father’s record store, for the past forty-five minutes. from the first time they’d met, haeseung had gained a soft spot for the girl; she said what was on her mind, and she was something of a confidant for him. a bit like the younger sister he’d never had, but would have made his life much better. he didn’t want to bother her with his problems, especially since he wasn’t his normal, happy self, so he was hesitant about heading inside. his hand finally found the door anyway, and without much thought, he pushed his way into the establishment.
albums from every genre fills shelves as far as the eye could see, and dallia’s favorite linkin park tracks hummed nostalgically over the store’s speaker systems. with one of the only smiles he’d worn that day, haeseung’s coffee colored hues scanned the store for his friend. finally spotting her emerging from the back. “i, too, am a robot boy,” was his soft attempt at a joke and his initial greeting, folding his hands over the counter and pressing his forehead down on top of them in a comical, if not sad display.
