*****SPOILERS BELOW*****

I feel weird saying this, esiecialky considering how I felt about the character when the series initially started, but it would appear that the less Chale, the worse off the show is. Sure, Kevin James does a great job of keeping a would-be mediocre multi-camera sitcom just right above average with his hyper masculine bear-type charisma, but this episode’s lack of Chale was definitely felt throughout the episode. As a matter of fact, the funniest part for me, was when Chale was face timing his family back in England and his attempt to play down their very icy reception towards Kendra, especially as it played out paralleled to their overly warm embracement of Chale. If anything, this gives us some great foreshadowing for when the wedding finally happens and The Gable’s and Chale’s family are forced to mix it up and mingle amongst each other… Should make for some solid KCW comedy.

Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy, Resident Evil, Prison Break) & Jim Breuer (SNL, Half Baked) guest star in 'Unholy War’. Coates is utilized well as an old nemesis of Kevin’s competing for the wedding date at the church…Breuer, on the other hand, is extremely under utilized as the overworked big city priest who must make a decision on who gets the venue on the coveted date (I would’ve just gone with same date/different times, but what do I known)… Tho Breuer is turning out to have a small recurring role anyway.

This is far from a good episode of KCW, even falling on the lower end of average… As it’s basically just made up of two guys trying to one-up each other in a manly pudding contest. Low on comedy, high on piss. When you think about it, not really the highest of compliments.

The Great Indoors (S01E12) 'Paul's Surprise' @cbs Airdate: February 9, 2017 Ratings: 7.437 Million :: 1.5 18-49 Demo Share Score: 4.5/10 *****Spoilers Below***** Never corner an otter... No not the gay kind, the real ones, also never corner Jack... The emotional otter. It was weird not having Roland around for the episode, but I get that it was used a device to put Jack in charge of the speech... A very, very awkward speech. If a speech at an engagement party starts with telling a person they are the love of your life, and you're not there to deliver it, its probably best not to have a person who's 'been inside a lot of the same places' of the will-be (might-be?) groom. 'Paul's Surprise' is actually one of the weaker episodes of 'The Great Indoors' but it's a first that so many plot points are officially established and revealed. Jack is indeed still in love with Brooke. Brooke is married to a pussy-cat like, jam obsessed, softie (who we've finally seen in person)... And Zeb has finally exited the tent and entered a tank... So instead of just a voice, he's now taken a human form, granted that human form is completely in disguise under scuba gear, but it's definitely a huge development. The episode has also insinuated the crew of 'The Outdoor Limits' is extremely loyal to Brooke, which is honestly kind of surprising since for most of the series so far she's kind of been an outcast of sorts, trying extremely hard to fit in. This leads me to believe that the writers are playing on The Millennials' easily offended sensibilities more than anything... Which in turn means that they really aren't that loyal to Brooke or I'm just looking way too hard into something that's not really there or well thought out in the first place. And just for the record... Joel McHale does not look like a stretched out David Spade... I don't get that AT ALL. Also, as a liaison for all of those gainers, cubs, bears, or even those with an average man build... There's nothing wrong with 'Dad Bod', as a matter of fact you should probably embrace it. I can get down on self deprecating humor, but I draw the line at body shaming... Just as I did here for men in 'The Great Indoors' I also did for women when it was the main focus at the beginning of ABC's 'American Housewife'.
