TAB Beauty: Back to Basics - Multi Masking with The Body Shop
Facial masks are a great way to revitalize your skin and kick start a skincare routine. Whether it’s drying clay, an easy to rinse off gel or a peeling mask, pretty much anyone who’s a skincare fanatic makes the facial mask an essential part of their process. Now, this isn’t necessarily a new trend, but the idea of “multi-masking” or combining multiple masks that target specific needs across your face has become increasingly popular. And in that spirit, The Body Shop released 5 “Superfood” charged facial masks to target specific skincare needs.
If you opt to use each one as a stand alone option then your choices are Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask, Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polish Mask, Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask, British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask, and Amazonian Acai Energizing Radiance Mask. But if you really want to get into the multi-masking trend and supercharge your routine, you’ll use two or more of these masks by applying each one to the area most in need of its solution.
Now I personally hopped on this multi-masking trend and tried the “Hydrate & Invigorate Facial” by combining the British Rose, Himalayan Charcoal and Chinese Ginseng & Rice masks together per the directions provided by The Body Shop. You apply Himalayan Charcoal to your T-zone, British Rose on your cheeks, and Chinese Ginseng & Rice on your chin.
My Thoughts: These products are genuinely effective and you instantly feel results as soon as you rinse off the masks. It can feel a little weird “multi-masking” because you feel very distinctly different textures at once - especially when one is drying and the other is hydrating. But the awkwardness is well worth it because of the positive results. And yes, it’s easier to apply these masks with a spatula than with your fingers.
