Hey guys! This looks like a pretty cool event, and I was thinking of joining this year. Just wanted to ask, though it's probably self-explanatory, what's the difference between a Primary and Supporting Creator?

Hey there! Thanks so much for you question and interest in the event!

This can be answered by our wiki, which I will quote here: "Primary and supporting creators are more general terms for the roles of different creators' work in a team—e.g. in a traditional Big Bang, a writer is a primary creator and an artist is a supporting creator.

In a traditional Big Bang, writers are tasked with creating fanfiction of which artists create illustrations. In this sense, the writers create the primary work that artists support with their art. In a Reverse Big Bang, as the name suggests, the artists are the ones creating a primary work (a piece of artwork) for which writers create a supporting piece (a fanfiction based off the artwork).

For Sonic Supernova, we want to feature not only fanfiction and fanart, but fanworks of other mediums, such as fan comics, voice acting, essay writing, or creating physical media. Obviously, telling people they could sign up as writers or artists like in a traditional Big Bang wouldn't work for us; we needed new terms to capture the fact that we welcome all kinds of fanworks. For that reason, we came up with the terms primary and supporting creators."
