"Term definitions for those who may not be familiar.
Noob - player who continues to make mistakes that an experienced player would be expected to avoid
Bopped - player who is consistently taken out easily by other players
Smurf - experienced player who creates a new account in order to be matched with a new and inexperienced opponent who can be easily defeated
Bot farm - players uses scripts to play the game while they are not at their computer, thus taking up a slot in the game that would otherwise be filled by a more useful player
The there are two overall points that the poster is making. First, there is no way to design any multiplayer game that will protect the dumbest players from being food for the better players without destroying the game. The second point is that even if you can successfully provide rewards for the poor players that allows them to progress, you now introduce a system that can be easily farmed by bots, thus filling the game with non-players, furthering the decline of the player base."
You know what this is something I did not know or understand I completely missed online gaming and voice chat as an experience. And I never got formal definitions of terms at least once that emphasize this kind of Distinction. I may not even agree with the conclusions or the idea but at the very least it recontextualize is what some people mean by get good noob or scrub.
