When Mixcoatl had come to them with a request, Tezcatlipoca had to admit that they were totally unprepared and shocked. Not by the request itself but by the fact that Mix was asking them, of all people. Tezca would have never imagine that they’d be a candidate for such thing so at first they had no idea how to feel or what to answer so they asked for time. To process, to talk to Quetzalcoatl, to sort out what they felt about it.
“I’ll do it.” Was his final answer and they had not seen Mix beam with quite such happiness in so long that they could just laugh when the other picked them up and almost crushed their ribs with a hug.
It had been a while since that had happened and now they were waiting on the bedroom they shared with Quetzalcoatl for Mix and Quetza to arrive so they could figure out if they were or not pregnant.
Pregnant....How weird. Tezca thought, a hand going to their abdomen, wondering if there was life growing in there already or not. They had been feeling odd lately but it could all be in their head. Tezca had to admit that they had been feeling anxious about it, wanting it really bad but also knowing how difficult it could be for anything to happen. It wasn’t the first time they had done this and the disappointment in Mix when Quetza told him that there was no child yet always made Tezca’s heart ache.
