It is so great I could play Dragon Age: Origins on even an Xbox One if I bought one because of backwards compatibility now, it was implemented not long ago, but I can’t fucking play on Windows 10 because it keeps C R A S H I N G every single fucking time I’m trying to play.
I’ve literally tried everything to make it work, it was bad in Lothering, was alright in Redcliffe though I kept having memory leak the whole time even though I have the 4gb patch... Graphics going into huge rectangles? Restart... that’s how I managed to deal with the Circle quest and Redcliffe, the DLCs.. just to get to the temple of the sacred ashes, to the gauntlet, to the fucking bridge, where no matter how I try it, it crashes at the same fucking point.
I’ve tried:
the 4gb patch
repaired and verified my game
using different resolution and windowed mode
made 3 wardens
lowered the graphics completely
loaded back several older saves
changed party members and restarted the gauntlet with them
with and without the -enabledeveloperconsole
started the game with and without origin, in administrator mode
set the processor affinity to 1 core
made sure all my drivers are up to date
tried with and without mods (not that I have many)
tried while being logged in and out of the servers
Thats all that comes to my mind rn, but I’m 99% sure I’ve tried everything I found online and nothing has worked. I’m not going to keep playing on a 10yo outdated OS (yes Win7 I’m looking at you) because no one cares to bother to release a compatibility patch to their games in order to work on newer systems as well, with multiple cpu cores and more than 4gb ram whatsoever. There’s 6yrs between DA:O and Win10′s release, come on...
