reki let out a sigh; he felt absolutely awful.
it had been three days since he had left the hospital; he had once again accidentally touched traces of a peanut snack bar that had been left on one of the school lunch tables. usually he and langa would eat outside, but it was raining that day, so they had no choice but to stay indoors for lunch. it usually took hours for the symptoms to kick in, so by the time he had gotten home he had begun to experience the onset of anaphylaxis, and it got so bad that his mom had to give him an injection from his epi pen and call the hospital. he had been given an entire course of drugs and oxygen to make sure his body got through the reaction all right, including but not limited to epinephrine and antihistamines. thankfully it wasnât as bad as past reactions, but it was still frightening all the same.
and it felt as though his body was still trying to process all the drugs he had been given. he had been given a cream to treat some of the hives he got on his back, and his face still looked slightly puffier than usual. his throat was still sore and he felt weak, and earlier he had gotten a slight fever; all he wanted to do was crawl in bed and sleep.
there was a sudden knock at the door as reki was preparing some tea for himself to take back to his room, and he called out âitâs open.â the door slowly opened, and reki could only stare once he realized who it was: langa.
âhey, um...â reki began. âwhatâs up?â
