Watching the phodcast with my mum, she was very confused about 'no nut november'

Me: Have you ever heard that expression?

Mum: No? Why can't you have nuts in November? You should, that's when chestnuts are best!

Me: I'm sorry to tell you this but 'nut' is a synonym for 'orgasm'

Mum: Oh no! Why? Because 'nuts' is a synonym for 'balls'?

Now we're both helplessly giggling at 1:30am

Was showing my mum a video about how people with undiagnosed ADHD do at school, because it perfectly described my experience. Her first response was 'doesn't that happen to everyone' & then without missing a beat said 'oh no i forgot to cut my toe nails!'

Which may be the most ADHD response she could have possibly come up with

Earlier my Mum was trying to tell me about a film + q&a she saw at the BFI.

She says "you'll know the lead actor, I'm sure, his name is something like Odin Binglebonk"

I am quite sure that is, in fact, no ones name. So I press her for more details about his name. "Oh, I don't know, I'm sure it's just like that"

A while later she says "oh no, his name is Bob"

Realisation dawns on me, 'Odin + Bob', I take a deep breath & say "Mother, do you mean Bob Odenkirk?"

"Yes! See you do know him" she is very pleased with herself.
