I don't think I've never made it a secret that I don't like Sakura, and I really don't care that it's Kishi's fault or whatever other bullshit I have seen repeated over and over again. Is she written badly? Idk. Maybe. But that still remains her annoying canon character

There are some fanon depictions of her that I like and I'm not ashamed to say that, if she's written well in fanfics I'm completely fine and happy about it. However. In my time reading and writing fanfics, I have seen So. Many. Sakura Ships. And I can't take it anymore. And I'm not talking about Sakura with the Konoha 12 or the Sand Siblings or, Hell, even the teachers. That's normal stuff. I don't like it most of the time, but I can see why and how it exists

What I'm talking about is that Sakura is fucking everywhere, and I mean it

I've seen enough Sakura/every Akatsuki member to be sick of it, especially Sakura and Sasori, although I can see why that's a thing and I can respect it. I've seen Sakura with every. Single. Uchiha. It doesn't matter if it was ItaSaku, ShiSaku or, Hell, MadaSaku. I've seen Sakura with Izuna. I've seen Sakura with Indra

Sakura with like, every single character we know from Kumo is a thing, and believe me when I say that I've come to hate Sakura/A with a passion

I've seen Sakura/Rasa. Sakura/Orochimaru. Sakura/The fucking Sage if Six Paths

And I have to admit that I, regrettably, have contributed to this some years ago when my best friend, who is not a writer, asked me to write some Sakura fanfics for her because she loves my writing style and wanted some stories of her favorite character written by me. And do you want to know what ship she asked me to write about? Sakura/Trafalgar

The problem with Sakura in canon is that outside of her medical knowledge she's kinda useless. "BuT sHe KiLlEd SaSoRi" I hear everyone screaming, and yeah, she did. Thanks to Chiyo who saved her ass multiple times by puppeteering her around otherwise she would have died in 0.3 seconds

She's a joke of a character who thinks to be as strong as Naruto and Sasuke but then cries and calls for Naruto the moment something happens. "BuT iT wAs PeIn WhAt Do YoU wAnT hEr To Do" Idk, fight like anyone else without acting like a useless crybaby? She's a medic, she could have gone help Tsunade with the injured or whatever instead of kneeling on the ground screaming her heart out for Naruto. She's a fucking trained shinobi, she has to be ready for emergencies

And because she's so useless, basic, bland and badly written, people have started using her as a puppet (heh) and a vessel for their Self Insert, and believe me I've seen my fair share of authors that are like "Omg I'm so Sakura that's why she's my fave" and then the story is the most ugly Y/N SI Wattpad story where Sakura gets sold and passed around like a fucking toy and everyone and their neighbor fights for her for whatever reason, there's never an explanation for this shit, it just is

And yes, I use Sakura in my AUs. And do you know why? Because that's my depiction of her, and I get to decide for her to not be a poor excuse of a shinobi who is actually smart and stands up for herself and doesn't lie to her friends and abandon them in the middle of a fucking forest (I still haven't forgotten THAT scene. When she, Lee, Sai and Kiba wanna go to Sasuke but Sakura fucking puts them to sleep with a trick and ABANDONS THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING FOREST WITHOUT MAKING SURE THAT THEY'LL BE FINE IF LEFT ALONE. SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE SMART. WHAT THE FUCK IS SHE DOING LEAVING THREE SLEEPING TEENAGERS AND A SLEEPING DOG IN THE FOREST WHERE ANYONE COULD FIND THEM AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE THREE FUCKING FREE KONOHA SHINOBI. SHE'S FUCKING MENTAL IS WHAT SHE IS. SHE'S LUCKY SAI HAD A CLONE WITH KAKASHI AND TOLD HIM OTHERWISE WHO THE FUCK KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED)

So. Yeah. I don't like Sakura in the slightest both in canon and in many fanon depictions of her, although there are some stories that make me like how she's used as a character together with everyone else. I'm happy when people give her the good characterization she deserves and I try doing that in my AUs as well. I never leave her out just because I don't like her in canon, instead I take her and try making her better than she is. But that doesn't mean that I like her or her 1938480281 ships. I'm tired of having to block every single one of her tags when I search for stories (and you wanna know why? Because some people will tag her in the ship but not as a fucking character in the story, so I find stories of her even if I exclude her general character tag and I'm tired of it. People need to learn to tag their shit correctly)

And I don't hate Sakura fans, don't get me wrong. I just don't like the character, that's all

Probably the fact that despite everything he's passed, he's still kind in his own way. Watching him care and worry for his students is especially my favorite thing, but also everything else as well. The goofiness that most people don't even realize is there, his friendship with Gai, his super hot calculating, serious and tactical side.

His compassion, his kindness and his empathy. The fact that he was one of the strongest yet he never boasted about it. Also how much he cared for Itachi

Least favorite thing about them

His death, and not because I wanted him to survive. As a writer myself, I understand the need to kill off certain characters for specific things to happen, in this case the massacre and everything after that, but it's the How that I hate.

For someone who is remembered for being one of the strongest, best genjutsu user ever and many other things, his death was so... Underwhelming. And yes, he didn't expect for Danzō to attack him, but still I feel like he shouldn't have gone down as easily as he did.

From Itachi's novel, this specific moment of Shisui talking to Itachi about why he approached him and how much being around Itachi helped him after his teammate's death

Kotoamatsukami should have had a bigger impact on the story given how strong it was said to be and how dangerous it was in Danzō's hands and also the 10 years cooldown is bullshit.

Root!Shisui taking over for Danzo when Danzo kicks the bucket…. Or, Shisui killing him?

I can't help but think of something happening, something big that might makes Shisui start doubting Danzō's ability to keep leading ROOT, and taking it upon himself to step up to the role

A Shisui who has been raised in ROOT would undoubtely put his mission(s) above everything else, and he would probably put a whole lot of faith and loyalty in Danzō, at least as much as someone groomed into the perfect orders-following soldier would

I don't know what could happen for Shisui to decide to take Danzō's place. Maybe he just gets sick of his methods. Or maybe Danzō still tries to steal his Sharingan, and Shisui doesn't hold himself back. If Danzō were to try and betray his trust and loyalty, I think I could imagine Shisui fighting back and ending up killing him, his fight-or-flight reflexes kicking in before he can fully understand the situation

OR. Maybe everything goes as canon does, except that Shisui is in ROOT and he was the one manipulating Itachi into the massacre. He was left behind when Danzō left for the Kage Summit with precise orders to take care of things in his absence, and when word reaches that he's dead Shisui decides to take his place and continue his dream

I just like to think that if Shisui were in ROOT, he would be one of Danzō's closest members. Danzō would never risk to lose his loyalty, especially after Kakashi snatches Tenzō right from under his nose, so when Shisui steps up to the position no one is really surprised. Many knew already that, in Danzō's eyes, Shisui was on a whole different level than others

Also I think it's said that the silence seal on the operatives' tongues disappeared after Danzō's death, so imagine Shisui having to re-apply all of them while also moving their HQ somewhere else because he has no doubts that Tenzō and Sai will now spill the secrets if asked

And oh, the idea of Shisui having to eventually face off with Kakashi and Tenzō, now Yamato. They don't know that Danzō has been replaced, they think ROOT is done for good and the only thing left is to just find all the various operatives to make sure they won't strike in revenge against the village

I don't think Shisui would fight them, though. He knows his own limits, and while he might maybe be able to win against them one on one with enough time to recover in-between the fights, he knows they wouldn't let him. He would give them a hard time, but he would end up losing. Still, it's interesting to think about and it would be amazing to see/imagine

Possibly, yeah

I'm actually not 100% sure if I'm aromantic or demiromantic, I do remember having a crush on a boy that was in my class when I was like 14, but I'm not sure if it was a romantic crush or if I just wanted him to rail me (he was really hot and had a voice that could make my knees shake, pity I haven't seen him in a long time but, you know, life happens sadly). It also took a while for me to develop my crush, and when it happened we had known each other for a long while by that point and he was basically my best friend

However, I'm not really worried about it. I do feel comfortable with calling myself aro, and labels can always change. Hell, until last year I thought I was panromantic, so it's not like once I've given myself a label I have to stick with it until the end of my life 🤷🏻‍♂️

My final thought on the matter is, I'm not interested in finding a romantic partner and I'll probably never be. If it does happens that I find someone, good for me. Otherwise, good for me just the same
