I started switching to a lesser waste lifestyle and go natural/local with products I use everyday as a way for me to help the environment. I get so lazy most of the time but I wanna get serious with this matter so I have to find ways to get motivated. So glad that finally, I got to attend Muni’s last event on zero-waste self care. Everyone shared bits about their daily struggles with plastic and trash but my favorite part is how each of us got inspired, empowered and hopeful that one day, package-free shops and reusable stuff will be accessible to everyone; that we won’t pick plastics cause it’s more convenient; and zero-waste lifestyle isn’t an option anymore but a standard. . . . . . . . . #muniph #munimeetup #zerowaste #selfcare #sustainabledevelopment #sustainableliving #standupfortheenvironment #lightroom (at LOFT Coworking Philippines)

MUNI Market Day promotes healthy, sustainable living with a fun, community vibe
Now on its 3rd run, MUNI Market Day continues to bring together mindful merchants and conscious consumers, this time on March 28, 2015, 9AM-5PM at Capitol Commons. True to its mission of providing not just an avenue for sellers, MUNI Market Day continues with its goals to educate guests on how to introduce healthier, more sustainable options into their lifestyle.
Apart from feasting on wholesome food and buying local or eco-friendly products, interested attendees can sign up for workshops on Urban Farming by Bahay Kubo Organics, Plant-based Nutrition by The Superfood Grocer, Vegan / Gluten-Free Cooking by Jertie’s Kitchen, and Indoor Planting by The Green House Project. Also, one of the unique draws or highlights of MUNI Market Day is the selection of musicians who bring a lot of good vibes throughout the event.
MUNI Market Day is brought to you by MUNI, a collaborative community that has been working to promote mindful living through events like this, meetups, forums, or other workshops, design collaborations, and content, which can be found on www.muni.com.ph, or their Muni PH Facebook page.

It's #MUNImarketday! Fusion of creative local minds and hyper fun!
I just have to share this to all of you and since I'm back on blogging allow me to invite you to a event where we can feel spending a pleasant Sunday in New York City! You know how New Yorkers would spend their Sunday free time dropping by markets and purchasing fresh home goodies, well, it's gonna' happen just like that with MUNI Market Day on June 1, 2014, 9AM-9PM at The Grove by Rockwell. Awesome, right?
To top it all off, this event also features products of our own and environment-friendly ones for it encourages attendees to appreciate the creativity Filipinos have and to understand the importance of taking care of Mother Earth. It's not only an event filled with fun and shopping but also one that is game for wholesome interaction and enlightening learning!
Today, I took photos for the Women Weaving Change: A BrewPH Conversation by MUNI & Bo's Coffee.
I had the opportunity to listen to such inspirational speakers discuss about empowering indigenous groups through creating a market for their weaves and textiles.
Some important points that I remembered during the talk ...
a. To venture in this kind of business, what is important is to think of the whole project holistically. Getting the products and selling it isn't just enough. It's important to know your market and to find the niche. Sadly, not everyone will pay a premium for handmade weaves and textiles locally.
b. For these women, their business is considered a partnership with these weavers. It's a symbiotic relationship - helping and empowering these weavers while pushing our local craft into the international market.
c. Designers should collaborate with weavers. Each of these textiles and weave have a meaning to these tribes and groups. Someone before made a mistake of using a burial cloth for upholstery. We have to understand what colors and patterns are important to this people and work around that.
d. To get into this business is rather expensive, which is why it's important to collaborate and connect with fellow designers and supporters of this endeavor. You can check out ECHOsi Foundation Inc. if you'd like to know more about social enterprise sustainability, as well as market access.
Hi, everyone. I’m in a bit of a bind, and I need help. This has a lot to do with coding and Tumblr themes, so if you are knowledgeable on these topics, I’d really, really appreciate your help.
I’m taking care of the look of the tumblr for my organization, Muni. (muni.com.ph) so far, it looks great, but we need to insert a Twitter feed into the sidebar, as well as set the page links as a list. Looking at the code, I can’t make heads or tails of what goes where, as the format is rather new to me. (Oh, btw, the site’s using Magazine from ThemeStatic.)

About the Muni x Moonleaf collaboration
Moonleaf Tea Shop has been creating it's annual planners since 2012, and when Moonleaf found out Muni, our thrust, and the #CutTheCrap campaign we rolled out last April to June 2013, they liked how we tapped creativity to send out an important message. :)
So for their 2014 planner, they collaborated with us and we came out with 12 themes per month for their planner, with the goal of sharing ideas and actions you can pursue for a better self, community and planet. :)
Why do we love the Muni x Moonleaf 2014 planner?
The planner features 12 of the country's top illustrators, complete with postcards you can share with friends. And more importantly, the planner encourages sustainable, positive change through awesome illustrations, occasional factoids, and practical, easy-to-apply tips for mindful living. :)
We're really grateful to Moonleaf for this opportunity to spread Muni's message of mindfulness, and positively affect the people who are awesome / fortunate enough to have a copy in their hands. :)
