My number one biggest gripe with the whole cats regents thing is not that they're doing adaptations and changing things (I actually like the variety in shows), it's that this is the only cats production that is showing in the uk right now, and to boot, the only official cats production shown in the uk in the past 10 years!!!!! Like you seriously cannot go radio silence for a decade and come back full swing with a new revised version and not expect any criticism???? If they were running the show alongside replicas then it would be a totally different scenario, but obviously uk cats fans who want replicas booked tickets anyway because there are no other shows! You announce cats is coming back and they're going to want to go see it!! So of course there's going to be unavoidable criticism!!!!
