As part of 2005 New York Fashion Week, the Muppets collaborated with various designers and couture boutiques. In one such collaboration with Colette—a French boutique—Miss Piggy was sat in the window display wearing a Prada dress of peacock feathers.
The store also sold various Muppets merchandise as to celebrate Kermit the Frog's 50th anniversary.

In 2005, a mock reality show called America's Next Muppet was ordered by ABC. Described as a parody of America's Next Top Model, the show would have featured the Muppets trying to find the next new member to add to their troupe. The show was never picked up.

The advertisement featuring Kermit first appeared in the May 31 issue of Time magazine.

Despite his resemblance to Bela Lugosi's portrayal of Dracula, The Count's status as a vampire is questionable.
While the specification chart in the 1998 style guides says Count von Count's only similarities to Dracula are visual, his profile on the Sesame Workshop webpage suggested that he is related to the famous vampire.
Additionally, the creator of Count von Count, Norman Stiles, said to performer Jerry Nelson that The Count is "a vampire, but not a real vampire."
However, in his WIRED interview, Count von Count said in response to the question "Is the Count on Sesame Street a vampire?": "Yes, but I am a vampire with an unquenchable thirst for numbers." This is in reference to traditional vampires who exhibited arithmomania.
Even though Count von Count has never been explicitly labeled as a vampire on screen, the current information leaves it ambiguous at best.

In a deleted scene from It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, it is implied by Kermit that J.P. Grosse has died. However, script writer Jim Lewis exclaimed Grosse was very much alive, saying,
"Dead? J.P. Grosse? I think not. Highly exaggerated and all that. Why, compared to Statler and Waldorf, he’s a mere child. No, I suspect the whole "dead" rumor was spread by his competitors or scurrilous writer seeking to please a network."
