I was recently lucky enough to win a full-colour commission from the very talented @blue-blossom. I also got married - so of course I commissioned an extremely self-indulgent wedding scene of Roadhog and Mei, which she outdid herself on.

But do you know what else she did? What this absolute talent and gem of a person did?

She drew more.

And to add a personal note. 2017 into 2018 were rough for me. My mum passed away and this time last year I spiralled to the point that I got signed off work for my depression, which had been untreated for years. Her birthday’s Christmas Eve so it all came to a head, and the fact that the wedding I was struggling to organise was going to happen without her was the hammer to the last nail. I went onto meds and into therapy, and through a combination of those things and the unwavering support of my husband and loved ones I got through. But it wasn’t just them. After near enough 20 years in fandom, tumblr finally provided me with a platform I felt secure in. Through it I found a community worth being in, began harnessing my creativity in a fulfilling way and made so many friends. It was a place of escape I was able to tailor to my wants and needs. It felt like a clubhouse when other spaces on the internet felt like standing naked in a spotlight (but in a wholly empty room). I am a stronger person for tumblr’s existence, and for the part you all played in it, I am so, so grateful.

So thank you. And screw you, yahoo!

Gratitude

I have never, ever felt as comfortable within a fandom as I do right now. I’ve met so many kind, talented people and experienced wonderful things. For the first time, I feel like I have a creative voice that’s being heard! Thank you so much to everyone who’s involved themselves with me - I’m going to make some personal shoutouts here, even if it is a little gratuitous! ;;

My bestie @casualsharkmusings helped me do wedding shit today, and we needed to work out dimensions for the table centrepieces........ so we marked a table out with masking tape, of course!

Played and lost 3 matches of ow tonight (had to play single tank each time)

Took to lfg to find fun people to play with, got into this guy’s party ‘cause his tags were all “chill chat” “makin friends” that kinda shit

One of them’s playing NBA 2017 and playing music loud - the others know each other and are talking about a girl he just shagged and how he had to jump out her bedroom window ‘cause her parents got home. After a bit they asked me why I was quiet and before I could answer - called me a racist white girl and kicked me.

C’MON I JUST WANNA PLAY THIS STUPID GAME WITH NICE PEOPLE. FUCKING XBOX OVERWATCH IS BULLSHIT. NO ONE WORTHWHILE FUCKING PLAYS ON IT.
