cecil ends up killing cemlus but cecil gets infected by murbec and dies, cemlus was murbec’s host and kinda ends up getting cecil back in a sense

you know i was watching a bunch of game theory videos and it mentioned a kind of parasitic mushroom that controls the mind of insects that had been infected with it?? (body horror in link) i reminded me of murbec tbh like... murbec was supposed to be some kind of disease or something that takes control of the mind but.. do mushrooms think? cus murbec was supposed to be able to “think” i guess in sort of the human sense, you know? like knowing how to mimic the infected host’s behavoir so they appear fine, and the noticable symptoms only show up when its progressed to the point where it’s too late to get a cure or anything. but like. are fungi capable of pulling that off?? like i mean i know it’s an alien species and all but still i dont wanna get too seemingly over the top ...  idk if im getting my point across but this was a lot longer than i thought it would be
