She was a stoic person by nature, but if one thing could draw emotion out of her, it would be her family. She and her brother might not see eye to eye all the time, but that wouldn’t stop her from feeling concern for him when he was hurt. Especially now, when he had been hurt quite badly, although not enough to make it pride take the sidelines.

“Must you glare at me?” she asked dryly, displeasure colouring her voice. “I am only trying to help you, but if you would rather deal with this yourself . . .”
