Muroc Dry Lake was the original, pre-war home for speed trials in California. Civilians later lost access to the lake and it became Edwards Air Force Base, where Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier. I wanted some gear featuring Muroc and one of the narrow modifieds that were hot at the time.
