Pt. 3 of gifs from the Riptide episode Home for Christmas. One of my favorite episodes of the series and one of the best Christmas episodes of any show.

Nick is sick and grumpy until he’s called up by his reserve unit to escort the body of a soldier killed in a training exercise home to his father. Shortly after arrival in the soldier’s hometown, the mortician preparing the body for burial tells Nick that it’s someone else in the coffin. He knew the (supposed) decedent well and this isn’t him.

It sparks hope in the soldier’s elderly father (played brilliantly by James Whitmore) that his son might still be alive, and gets Nick, Cody, and Murray digging into what’s really behind the mix-up.

Perry King is 74 and Thom Bray 68 today. Born on the same day, yet with a six year difference. Nice coincidence!

The Riptide Detective Agency and the Guirilini family met twice during the show. At first in Arrivederci, Baby and then again The Pirate and the Princess.

So loved how Angelo described the guys:

Summary: Cody, Nick und Murray suchen den verschwundenen Verlobten von Adelina Lazareno. Lt. Quinlan hat einen geheimnisvollen Lederkoffer auf seinem Schreibtisch stehen, den er mitsamt dem dazugehörigen Fall eigentlich jemand anderem aufs Auge drücken möchte. Mitten in einem nächtlichen Sommergewitter taucht ein unbekannter Gast auf der Riptide auf und ist nur schwer wieder loszuwerden. Und irgendwie gehören diese drei Aspekte zusammen.

Yeah so, in case anyone remembers Riptide (dt. Ein Trio mit vier Fäusten), an 80s series about three private investigators, who just bumble through life, live on a boat and fly a pink helicopter. I wrote a fic about it.
