He can feel his heart swell and in that moment all he wants is to reassure her. Have her feel safe from anything that might harm her or wear her down even when he knows she's already pushed herself to meet her limit. But dammit, if it's in him, he's going to try. And so his features soften, in the face of desparity he still manages to express a warmth that even he hasn't felt in years.

"Inuoe, hey."

Once his eyed found her there was a break in his demeanor, a subconscious expression he's gradually become prone to making around those who have found a way into his small, inner circle. For someone who is typically so controlled, never one to want outsiders to catch onto his true feelings, it doesn't happen often enough. It speaks far more than the words he's said in greeting.

Yachiru looked up, hearing a familiar voice. Once she saw who it was she ran right up to Ichigo. "Icchi!" The young one called out as she ran right toward him.

It didn't take her long to decide to crawl up onto his shoulder as she had done with Kenpachi many-a times. "I haven't been able to find Kenny." She had unfortunately gotten separated from her Captain.

The expression on his face shifts from inquisitve to a bit suspicious but it soon passes as he begins to glance around the surrounding area. It wasn't often those two were seperated from one another but it did happen and at least she hadn't introduced herself by repeatedly kicking him in the head or any other violent actions. He could be grateful for that.

"I'm sure he isn't too far off, just stick with me, if there's one thing I know about Kenpachi; he tends to find me."

Ichigo wasn't one to leave anyone who appeared younger alone even if she was incerdibly powerful on her own. He didn't mind helping her out. Being lost and alone was never a good feeling. He'd prevent it if he could.

Ichigo's line of sight had caught the swift movements of a small pink-haired child. Typically, it meant Zaraki wasn't too far off but maybe there was some reason the younger shinigami was approaching him, so he felt the need to ask as he greeted her openly.

"Uh, Yachiru? What're you doing here?"
