My muse elf Thylara <3
You Got Bali'd.
One thing I love about the Bali right now, I got to clear the White Wizard AND his minions. Ha! Had to summon my Bali 3 or 4 times though. It's quite tricky because I have to be in such a range, that the mobs won't attack me, because mobs tend to just ignore my pet and attack me straight away, and I'm a freaking one-shot to them.
On the plus side, we got to loot this super awesome ring! Unfortunately it's unrepairable, so we'll have to deal with it getting destroyed eventually. Boo.
. . .
In light of the Bali's awesomeness, Stergi just got one-hit by my summon, and everyone around was in awe, lol. He said it's kinda too overpowered, even after I explained to him that the Bali will have a 20k Energy requirement.
For an elf though, to sacrifice points in agility and vitality to have 20k energy? That's highly unlikely. I think of myself as going through self-torture following this path, why would anyone else risk as well, right?
In my opinion though, I guess it does hurt quite a lot, and tanks quite a lot, I wouldn't deny. The numbers can be lowered, but not too much?
So what if it can kill a gold dragon? Or if it can one-hit a gold soldier? or kill dragons during invasions? Or kill the White Wizard? It does require a whopping 20k energy after all to acquire this piece of killing machine.
I guess Stergi's main concern is that a Bali can one-hit a nearly maxed character, which was false because we tried it on Robbie's RM character (unless that character has more than maxed "advantages"). But then again, PVP-wise, the Bali DOES NOT attack anything unless "I" initiate the attacking. So even if Stergi hit the Bali, the Bali doesn't hit him back.
Furthermore, if energy elves would be that much of a threat because of their summons, I get one-hit by the tiniest thorn out there, so just kill me before the summon hits you, right? Exaggeration aside, one Death Stab literally delivers death to me.
Considering how powerful the Bali is (let's not begin with how the Soldier will get tweaked), I guess it does need a little bit of fine-tuning. Either the level requirement, or its damage and health numbers. Hopefully not both though.
*fingers crossed*
So I've been testing out my beloved Bali ever since I switched to energy, and at one point my chat window just flashed "Bali: Commoner."
LOL much?
Not only did I find it quite baffling that my Bali seemed to have been running off killing players, but to find it having a hero status after a few while.
...My Bali enjoys more PVP than me, that is quite sad. >_>
So Robbin, Hadar and I were fooling around Devias Gate, trying out a bunch of stuff, and just mainly having random banter. It all started with Robbin as an outlaw, inviting Hadar into a party, and Hadar getting killed by the guards.
In our game's current version, being in a party with an outlaw counts you as one, regardless of who the leader is. So do not befriend those mean pk'ers, ha.
[1] Hadar mentioned that Robbin owes him an imp now, and boy did he give one in return. Haha. Behold, the Demon item, which is like the second level of the imp. Quite hilarious how he dropped an item which is bigger than anything else, perhaps next to Kundun's size.
[2] I've gotten my hands on a Spirit of Guardian, which is the equivalent for the Guardian Angel. It glows pink, but it looks sooo pretty! It reminds me of genies in Perfect World, and it's got feathers falling from it and all.
Downside though is that these 2nd stage "companions", are only visible to the ones who use them. I would've wanted to see how the demon looks like on my shoulders or something. :x
[3] You know how the police in real life has this stereotype image of fat-bellied donut-grubbing slackers? Who would have known that guards in RAI do the same. Punish evil doers and stop the slack!
PS: I just noticed in the screenshot that it seems like I took the form of the demon. Super proness right there.
Submission to Energy.
So I vowed that when I hit my 20th reset, I'll be a fully-pledged energy elf. I do believe that I am the first elf in Rai who has gone FULL energy as a primary build, and I do take pride of that.
Spending about 8 of my resets being all agility, I could say that so far, going all energy is really a downshift when it comes to leveling. Fo realz. Going all energy below 30 resets (I would assume), gimps an energy elf's leveling by a tonne.
Back in Fail, I've had 25 resets, and I do have the capability to risk going full energy because BC 5+ is heck easy, and being an energy elf WITH a Fenrir? SUPER PWNAGE. Obviously here, I can't do that, because a fen will die in my hands in those BC's. Then again I guess I could just use the fen outdoors.
I guess right now, I'll just have to look forward to the changes Robbie will be making with the elf summons. I'm actually quite psyched about having a pro summon to aid me in grinding. It may not be as efficient and god-sent as having a fenrir, but Tesco, every little helps.
He tweaked the Bali, because changing its numbers does not affect anything else, as the Bali does not exist anymore. I just started thinking, what if Robbie just removes the Soldier as a mob, and have it as just a summon now? I mean, Golden Wheels are flocking in Tarkan already, I barely see a Soldier.
. . .
Okay, back on topic. I don't know what's the deal with my masochistic choice of being all energy. I guess I just love that feeling of contributing something to a party, apart from pointlessly shooting arrows when my party mates kill everything way faster.
There are people in game with high risks of cliff-diving during BC encounters or falling flat on the ground during DS, and getting to protect their asses from the brink of death would be more beneficial, because they would reset faster, and get to help out others in return. I get to be the guinea pi— wait, that's gross...a "test mannequin" to how strong or weak an energy elf can be at certain levels.
I'm sure my choice will pay off, it's just a matter of when.
. . .
In light of my choice of path, one more thing that I do take pride of, is the fact that I am decked with a maxed Odin set. If it isn't for having this set, I would be less encouraged to go energy, because the defense bonus this ancient set gives is just godly.
Apart from that, I get to be one of the very few who's got a maxed shiny glittering ancient set, and that's kinda nice. Teehee.
I'm not quite sure if Robbin has plans of selling ancient pieces through the WebShop. I do hope not, though. In my point of view, choosing a certain path of leveling and acquiring the gear to enhance that path, is the very purpose of the game. Without that objective, everything will just be a tireless grind.
Anywho, I guess it's time for me to get some z's. Ciao.
