The only complot theory I believe is that Muse predicted that an Or1nge with a tie would be president. Like... Will of the people album cover is ORANGE
I won’t start with the lyrics but feel free to add some

I would like film and series to stop using Muse song. I get captivated.
I didn't betray them. Their album is soooo good

[EDIT: The G**gle telemetry PR has been closed. I’ll just let the comment speak for itself, except to say that at this point I am not ready to delete or retract anything else in this post because of what was said here and how it was handled overall.]
Just a small heads-up: Recently Audacity was "acquired" (i.e., control of the main centre of development was handed over to) what appears to be a private for-profit company that has expressed no interest or understanding of the ethics behind free/libre software.
The latest scandal from the last few days* is a proposal to add G**gle trackers to the software. There is no issue identified that this is intended to solve and the devs have stonewalled against the massive protest over it.
Here's the pull request, with over 3000 "thumbs down" reactions, numerous comments from across the spectrum and no substantive response from the devs:
https://github.com/audacity/audacity/pull/835
If you have Audacity, uninstall it now, because we can't trust things not to get worse. (I am posting this because I honestly believe there is a public interest at stake here; the link to the pull request should speak for itself.)
There should be a major fork in the works within the next month or so that should be safer, but until then you might want to avoid updating Audacity if you absolutely have to use it.
In the meantime folks have recommended Ardour which is a much more complex audio suite but should be user-friendly enough for smaller projects, hopefully.
