The Winchester's were a well known family in the witch community for centuries as the keepers of forbidden lore and knowledge. They were entrusted to keep books such as the Dark Hold safe from those that would wish to use it for selfish purposes and they were really good at it. At least until one night in May when a witch broke into their house and ended up killing Mary in order to obtain all the books in the Winchester's possession.
That night changed the path of the family from protection of knowledge and lore to hunters of witches and anything supernatural. Unfortunately it also led John down the path of hard drinking, neglect, and many bad decisions. One of them being a one night stand with a divination witch that resulted in the birth of Serenity Rose Winchester on October 31st, 1985.
Given her fathers surname she grew up knowing that her destiny was that of a keeper of knowledge she studied all manner of magics but none seemed to feel right for until one day the computer she was using in school started. . . .talking to her.
It seemed magic had started evolving with technology creating a new branch soon to be known as Technomancy.
Now, as an adult Ren runs her mother's magic and rare book shop, What's Lost is Found, while working as a programmer and trying to live a normal life as she could considering her bloodline. She also works as an occasional consultant for SHIELD when they are having an especially difficult time with a piece of alien technology or uncrackable code.
