STEPH :DDD

obligatory starter call for Steph (my version!) so I can add it to the pinned page! As always if you like this specify which muse is for!
That’s Enough [Steph/?]
muse: Stephanie Brown; Batgirl/Spoiler
connection: teammate/friend who lost their temper, rescuing a friend from a fight.
Everything had happened so fast that Stephanie didn’t realize what was going on till the situation was out of control. Quickly springing to her feet, Stephanie moved to try and break up the fight. “Hey, come on that’s enough. Get off of them.” It was like her words were falling on deaf ears. She watched as the fist continued to pound into the other until the moment she was able to grab hold of them. “I said that’s enough.”
I just realized that what I wrote for Steph is accidentally a main character origin story except that she starts out as a part of a straight up evil organization that has shaped the way she sees the world because her parents belonged to it while she's just their kid, AND also I have kinda taken the sole survivor plot of losing her baby to "raiders"?
And in my head once she leaves the Vault she makes some player choices like... bartering for new clothes in Filly so she's not immediately recognized as a weakling and targeted, she has training and a bunch of weapons, so soon enough she kills a bunch of people and steals better clothes and better supplies, and learns the ways of the surface while poisoning/sweet-talking/throwing granades/bartering
and don't get me wrong, she's evil. It doesn't matter that you are doing it to find your baby, if you start killing people who may not deserve it because it's easier and quicker to do that but you have other options, it's a 'cool motive, still murder' situation, but she can change for the better in other ways, like the fact that right now she sees only herself and 31s as 'real people' and no one else matters except for a few notable exception (Lucy and Norm were always people to her, she fell for her husband, Chet is a... something, she could have gotten there), but she can learn that other people are PEOPLE and she'll be shook to hear what Hank did because Lucy and Norm are, as I said, people like her, as she will be also shocked to hear that it was really Vault Tec who destroyed the world and her parents went along with it... but she's still going to choose morally gray options afterwards and like, be the type who will ask for payment EVERY SINGLE TIME even if it's a crying child looking for a parent. Because she needs caps for supplies. She'll just... never have the impulse to save people just because it's the right thing to do, or to choose the other more difficult options unless someone is prompting her too, she'll never be Good-good, but act more like the reformed villain of the group who is trying but if you weren't around and she could steal a bunch of supplies or toss a granade in the middle of a circle of fiends before trying to see if they can talk this out, she will. Too dangerous to let them live. Nevermind that enemies might have babies too.
@atomiqueen -Steph's turn!
It was after the Vault door had been opened again that everything had gone to hell; the raiders taking her baby, Betty not knowing what to tell her, and Steph grabbing weapons and supplies and walking out. She had always understood why Lucy had to go, and now it was her turn. It took a few weeks to make her way through the Wasteland, meeting the strangest people, but being so willing to murder everyone had really given her an advantage there. A straight line, following the raiders' trackers, down to a city named New Vegas, with the help of some hired thugs, and Steph, now in locals' clothes, was deciding how to earn some new caps when she recognized a familiar shade of blue. "Lucy? Lucy, is that you?"
@canary-in-a-vault gets Steph!
She had poisoned their main water supply, just needed to wait and it would be safer for her to cross that bridge with most of the raiders agonizing below, unable to take a shot at her, so Steph was looking for a place where to sit and rest when her eyes caught a glimpse of familiar blue. Her messy journey had somehow brought her to bump into the one person she truly cared for in the world, besides her daughter. And occasionally Norman. It had to be a sign. And she was so thankful that unlike her, in her raider garb, her friend was still wearing the Vault colors, but also curious as to how she had survived for so long in it, considering how things had been on the surface - her parents had been right, the world clearly needed their guidance. "Lucy... Lucy!" she whispered louder, beaming at the sight while coming out of a bush, "Here!"
@nuclearbinds still for Chet - part 2
Chet had been dragged to look for the water chip, but maybe if he hadn't, maybe, if he had been there to look after baby-no, she was the one who could kill easily, and who was still left with nothing, truly nothing.
The second wave of raiders had attacked right as the others had come home, but these ones didn't waste time killing random people, they went straight for the children, and somehow only picked the ones born from at least one parent who came from Vault 31. They had been sent with that specific goal. Tears streaming down her cheeks, silent from the horror just like when holding her dead husband, she only looked up when Chet arrived. "They took her." Betty didn't want to lose her too, didn't want to let her go outside, but Steph had already decided. "The raiders took her away."
@nuclearbinds + Chet
It was nice to have a man around the house again, so that Steph wouldn't have to deal with a newborn baby alone - so that she wouldn't have to deal with the fact that she was alone. Having chosen Chet, big, impossible to miss, Chet, to watch after them, at least she could pretend nothing and no one was missing. This wasn't the lifetime-together-happy-ending her parents had claimed she'd have. "You'll have to get more Abraxo cleaner tomorrow, we are out," Steph informed him, poisoning the raiders had taken more of it than she thought but surely, Chet wouldn't question it.
Sitting on the couch, she observed Chet and the little toy he used to keep Bertha distracted, noticing for the first time that he was putting an effort in it. "You are... good with her."
