As Kai made that statement, he collapsed back on the couch. “Definitely the cutest when they’re quiet,” he smiled as the baby laid in the crib, sucking on a pacifier. He hadn’t even realized Aksel was home.
Kai was in the park doing his normal running routine when he thought he saw a familiar face. In disbelief, he slowed down to a power walk and realized it was Aksel. Smirking, he sidled up to him. “Wow, Aksel in the park this early on a Sunday? Aren’t creatures of the night supposed to be hiding in shades and rushing home?” He taunted, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Woah woah woah, you’re gonna have to slow down. Listen, I am a fitness trainer, okay? Not a lifestyle coach or a therapist, but I know a good therapist if you need one,” Aolani offered. “But if you’re looking for a friend you can take my business card and we can talk when I’m not at work,” he smiled.
Aolani looked up from the workout schedule he was filling as a soft knock sounded on his open door. “Oh! Hey, I wasn’t expecting you today. Did you want an extra session?” He asked. He knew the other had to have his number because they’d used it before. He hoped this wasn’t anything serious in a bad way.
Kai looked at them, confused. “What the hell are you talking about? My birthday isn’t today. It’s not for-” He paused to look at his phone and furrowed his brow as he saw the date before he looked over at the other person. “Shit, I forgot my own birthday. I didn’t even make any plans. What are we doing today?”
