He’s stabbing his steak at this point as he listens to what she has to say about her ex boyfriend. After catching up with her for a few dinners now, he sees even more her value, more than he’s seen back in school. She was definitely something else, and he just couldn’t understand why someone would even think about hurting her. “Well you know what, I hope he doesn’t eat good food ever again.” He’s trying to lighten up the moment, but he really wishes he could curse that man for leaving her in this state. “You deserve much better.”

What was a happy night turned sour really quickly and all happiness left his face, and in its place was confusion and an anger starting to boil. “What’s going on?”

There was a time he found it endearing, but the fussing turned into nagging and he often finds the other rolling their eyes at him whenever he showed up at their doorstep, bleeding or dead tired from missions and work. It wasn’t a life he chose, but being the only son of the head of the biggest mafia in South Korea meant that he had no choice but to live his life like a thug and that had its downsides.

“I get it, I get it, you don’t have to get mad.” Today it was a knife wound. A few members from a rival gang cornered him at the local convenience store and managed to wound him once with a knife cut to the torso. It wasn’t deep, but he couldn’t even bear to lift his head and meet their eyes. “This time, it really wasn’t my fault. I was only going to convenience store, no need for guards, or so I thought.”

There’s humming in the kitchen as he flips another pancake, barely hearing the footsteps behind him. Still, he does turn after plating the pancake with the bacon and eggs, turning to look at her and smiling slightly, “Okay, listen, before you freak out, no, we didn’t sleep together. You were however, too drunk last night to get home. You puked in the car twice, and I didn’t know where to bring you home so I left you my bed and slept on the couch.” He says, gesturing towards the couch in view with the spatula. “But have breakfast, I know you’re massively hungover.”
